Plates and drains are at the two ends of the consumption-waste spectrum. Here, ready-made plates are combined with metal drains. The variety of plates and drains is meant to de-emphasize the individual characteristics of each plate and rather focus on its “idea” or “image”.

With the help of a rubber-plug closing off the drains, these plates become perfectly functional objects, fit to eat from. But they still challenge the user to enjoy the present meal while right in the middle of it there is a constant reminder of the inevitable course of the future.
